Serbian female students are the winners of the “Osvajanje slobode” award for 2025, which the Maja Maršićević Tasić Foundation has been awarding for 25 consecutive years.
The jury’s explanation emphasizes that all female students collectively, in addition to the pressures, brutality of the state apparatus and attacks to which they were exposed together with their colleagues, had to face attempts at humiliation based on gender.
“They did not hide and today they do not hide behind anyone,” the jury’s statement states.
On behalf of Serbian female students, the award was received by Ružica Ristivojević, a student at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.
The winners were decided by a jury composed of previous laureates of the award.
